Storage TIps: KALE + GREEN ONIONS

Storage Tips

Green Onion Storage
Compared to mature onions, green onions are quite perishable. You can store them unwashed and wrapped in paper towel in a tightly closed plastic bag. They will keep in the crisper for three to five days before the tops begin to wilt.

Kale Storage
Place unwashed kale in a plastic bag and keep it in the crisper for up to a week. Keep in mind the taste becomes stronger with prolonged storage. You can also freeze kale for use later.  First wash and dry the kale.  Next chop by hand or in a food processor and put kale in a bag and freeze. Minced, frozen kale can be used just like raw kale because it thaws quickly.
